Lucian Freud (1922-2011) is a world famous portrait artist, who was born in Germany and lived and worked in England. Some of his works are odd but interesting. (He is is the grandson of Sigmund Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis - maybe that explains it). The second last one below is called "Sunny Morning - Eight legs" which is puzzling to say the least. But at least it makes you look twice. His works have sold for something like $56 million U.S. (That's not a typo). Interesting man.
